01 / JOE BAILEY

It begins
at the piano.

One artist. Two musical worlds.

For Joe Bailey, a melody is where a feeling begins to take shape.

Joe’s journey began at an early age at the piano, learning how harmony, melody and the space between notes could carry emotion. Those foundations still shape everything he composes, produces and performs.

Over time, his curiosity drew him toward new sounds. He found that the intimacy of a piano piece and the shared energy of a dance floor could move people just as deeply.

Today, The Amplified Pianist takes those melodies to the dance floor, while TAPmosphere gives his piano and orchestral writing room to unfold. Both begin with the same instinct: to turn a feeling into music.

Trance is at the heart of The Amplified Pianist (TAP), the electronic music project of pianist, producer and DJ Joe Bailey. His music also ventures into tech trance and tech house, with melody guiding his exploration across genres.

His love of electronic music began with three tracks: Tiësto’s Elements of Life, Armin van Buuren’s Communication, and Ferry Corsten’s Beautiful. The emotion in those melodies inspired him to experiment with production at an early age, even before he fully understood the tools.

In 2023, Joe followed a three-day livestream of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Rank 1 and Ruben de Ronde producing the ASOT anthem Destination. Recreating their steps in his own music software helped the process finally make sense. A year of practice, with further guidance from Armin’s MasterClass, led to his first release, Juggernaut, in August 2024.

Since then, Joe has released music on labels including Future Rising Music, Elixir Black Music, LVLD Music and TranZone.

The piano remains central to how he writes. A kick, a sample or an unfamiliar sound might spark an idea, but Joe always sits at the keys to find the track’s defining melody. From there, he builds the rhythm, tension and energy around it.

DREAMSTATE 2025

Sharing the feeling.

Dreamstate 2025 was Joe’s first festival performance, and the experience that confirmed his love of DJing for a crowd.

Seeing people dance, smile and connect with music he had created brought a joy he finds difficult to put into words. A melody that began at his piano had become something people could feel together.

Music with
room to breathe.

Joe Bailey seated at the piano

TAPmosphere is Joe Bailey’s piano and orchestral project, created to draw listeners into an emotional world of its own. Its name brings together TAP and atmosphere.

The music ranges from solo piano to orchestral arrangements, sometimes with subtle electronic textures. Freed from the fixed grid of electronic production, Joe lets each piece find its own shape. Phrases can linger, rhythms can shift, and the music has room to breathe.

Compositions often begin in moments of intense emotion. When Joe feels joy, longing or uncertainty deeply, he sits at the piano to find a melody that gives it voice. That response becomes a story told through sound.

Memorable melodies and recurring motifs carry those stories. A few notes may return in different settings, holding onto their identity as the music changes around them. Through piano, orchestra and atmosphere, Joe invites listeners to step into the piece and feel it for themselves.
